Independent!
Mr. Drew is such and independent little guy! He has been dressing himself for quite a while now. I used to be very particular about how my children were dressed when we left the house. But not so much anymore. I am just so pleased that they have taken the initiative to get themselves dressed, that I usually let them wear what they put on. I figure that there are many more important issues to deal with than whether something matches or has a hole in it. Some things are just plain favorites and get worn ALOT! But there are occasions when I have to step in and enforce a change of clothes. Pictured below is one of those times. Now we do pick out the boys clothes for church and special functions, but for the most part, they dress themselves. This one particular day, I told the kids to put something nice on because we were having dinner with my Uncle Henry. Drew went and got himself dressed all by himself. He tucked his shirt in and buckled his belt. He just knew I would be proud. After all, it wasn't a t-shirt and gym shorts. It wasn't swim trunks or pajama pants. He had indeed picked something nice...a button up shirt...tucked in...with a belt! When he came to show me, he was grinning from ear to ear! I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I complimented him on his efforts and broke out the camera to document the event! After the photo shoot, we were able to pick out a better suited pair of shorts. I hope you enjoy the picture as much as I did!

Chrissy, great to hear from you! It would be great to see you this summer! We will be at the family reunion! If you aren't home for that, we will have family dinner!
He is so cute. He may set new trends, you never know.
Very cute! Ahhh, independence, a mother's best friend and worst nightmare! Hannah would have added a feather boa and sun hat.
