Today is Benjamin's 7th birthday!! WOW! It's hard to believe it was only 7 years ago that we were sitting in Red Lobster in Rocky Mount, celebrating our Anniversary, when my water broke! Benjamin wasn't due for another week! But, he was a big boy and ready to see the world! He weighed in at a whopping 9lbs and 11 oz.!! They called him "Big Ben" at the hospital! He looked like a fat little butterball turkey! He was filled with determination from the beginning!
This morning, he woke up to find a Surprise Birthday Party! We didn't plan a big party this year. (When you have alot of kids, everyone can't have a big party every year--it gets expensive!) So this was his year to have a family party!

I have been asking Ben what kind of cake he wanted me to make for his birthday. So yesterday he finally thought of it. He said, "You know what kind of cake I want for my birthday?"
I said, "What?"
He said, "a PUMPKIN PIE"!
So, that's what I made him! And we had it for breakfast!

Ben has been asking for a Rip Stik since May when he saw Trey's rip stik on our camping trip. He has literally asked for one about twice a week for the past 4 months. I was so relieved when his birthday finally arrived! For those of you that don't know what a Rip Stik is (because I only learned about them in May) they are a 2-wheeled skateboard type thingy. It is immensly difficult to ride this thing. But, like I said, Benjamin is filled with determination. I can't explain the concept of how to make this thing roll. As soon as breakfast was over, he got right on it!

Here is a short video of Ben riding his Rip Stik. You have no idea how difficult it is!
